Bring on Baseball!!!

The sun is finally showing hear in the Emerald City. Nothing like wishing for the best for the M's on Monday. For the first time in a long time, Ichiro will not make an opening day start due to a bleeding ulcer.

To be honest, I have been behind on my Mariner news. I am not sure how our final roster will shake down, but it sounds like we had a few surprises during the Spring. Felix, not Bedard, will be handed the ball Monday in the twin cities.

The Mariners suffered their first financial loss, since moving to Safeco Field, in 2008. I am not too surprised, but it does speak well to the loyal fan base. The M's have not seen October since 2001 and it took 7 more years to make it into the red. With the return of Griffey, the M's should be back in the black at the end of 2009.

With the A's and Rangers expected to give the defending Angels a good battle for first, the M's are expected to finish dead last this year. I don't see 101 loses in our future, but we could very well make the AL West a competive and exciting division.
