Matching that of what the M's were able to accomplish back in 2001 going 7-3 in their first 10 games. Keeping in mind that the first 7 were on the road. Now that they have returned to the Safe and the crowds welcome Griffey with open arms, the M's have lost 3 of the last 4 games.
I missed all of Sunday's contest, but it appears that we did not play well. We ate the ace of the Tigers lineup on Friday in Verlander, but since have lacked offense. Our bullpen, on the whole, has been pretty good. Morrow is our "closer" when possible. Despite his big blown save back in the twin cities, he appears to be back on track for a decent season.
We made two great moves in the Putz trade, acquiring both Franklin Gutierrez and Eddy Chavez. Eddy has been electric at the plate, and Gutierrez has offered us some great defense and timely hitting. I don't think we are a 90 loss team as predicted, I think we will make the West competitive.
